The total count of lives lost from the freight aircraft that ignited and went down has now risen to 13, according to recent statements.

City Leader's Statement

While en route to the Union’s candlelight gathering, I received word of a 13th person that passed away as a consequence of the aircraft accident,” expressed the city mayor in a online message. “My prayers are with the loved ones, associates and peers of all who were lost in this week’s disaster. We will endure this collectively.”

“Our sympathies go out to every staff member who has been affected and all in our local area – supporting you and making sure you get the attention and resources you need is our priority,” the firm’s communication read.

Inquiry Updates

Government officials disclosed that the freight aircraft’s wing ignited and an power plant separated soon after departure from the Louisville Muhammad Ali international airport, causing the jet to crash and burst into a fireball.

The National Transportation Safety Board has said it is investigating the jet’s maintenance history, that was in Texas for fixes weeks prior to the incident.

Aviation data indicated the plane was on the tarmac in the Texas city from the start of last month to last week.

“We are cognizant that this plane was present in San Antonio,” stated an investigator on the following day, without providing a precise date range. “We will review all elements of repairs that was performed, including the repair visit, straight to the time of the trip.”

Findings of Vital Evidence

The audio device and information unit were recovered, and the power plant was found on the tarmac.

The devices – called flight recorders – were constructed to withstand crash impacts and extreme heat from infernos, and they looked to be in one piece when found amid the remains. Officials plan on reviewing information from the devices.

Jet’s final data recordings displayed an elevation of 475 feet and a velocity of that speed prior to the accident.

Repair Record

Based on Federal Aviation Administration records dated last month, a crack on a component inside the tank area required maintenance.

Headquartered in Singapore ST Engineering, which indicated it provides airframe maintenance for the company’s jet and operates a service location in San Antonio, chose not to speak, but expressed it would work closely when relevant authorities approached it.

Operations Resume

In the meantime, the facility activities restarted last night with its Next Day Air or evening process, spokesperson the company official said. Each of the three runways at the airport were also open again.

The distribution hub in the city is the organization’s biggest. The hub engages in excess of twenty thousand people in the region, manages numerous flights per day and organizes over four hundred thousand items an hour.

Public Support

A gathering was held on the evening of that date by the area Teamsters Union, which acts for employees at the Louisville airport, the firm’s primary shipping facility.

Teamsters Local 89, which supports UPS workers, began the memorial with a quiet tribute at 5.14pm, the estimated time of the crash two days earlier.

“This incident was so sudden, so surprising,” the official spoke to the group of 200. “No one had a moment to say goodbye to any one of those who we have said farewell to.”
